Alcohol and Drug Rehab San Diego
Down-to-Earth San Diego Addiction Treatment Center
You are not alone. Alcoholism and drug addiction affects millions of people around the world every day. In fact, it’s one of the most common addictions worldwide.
We’ve been there, and we understand.
Many people are unaware that there are lots of different approaches to alcohol addiction treatments. One type growing in popularity is outpatient rehab. This form of treatment is different from residential rehab because it allows individuals to live at home near San Diego during recovery. They still receive counseling and support but do not require hospitalization.

Where to Start?
What is a detox program?
Medical Detox is an important part of the recovery process. After a person stops abusing drugs or drinking, he or she must undergo detoxification. This is where the patient receives medical treatment to aid his or her withdrawal symptoms. In addition, it helps the individual learn how to live without drugs or alcohol.
Alcohol detoxification is the process by which someone stops consuming alcohol. People usually go into detox because they are experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms. These include tremors, seizures, hallucinations, sweating, vomiting, diarrhea, and muscle cramps. However, many people don’t realize that there are different types of detoxification methods. There are medically supervised detoxes, on-site medical detoxes, and self-administered detoxes.
Our caring staff and addiction specialists can help you decide and organize which detox program is best for your individual addiction recovery program.

The most effective substance use disorder programs and mental health services attend to the individual client and family’s needs.
Mental Health Treatment is an important aspect of addiction recovery. While some patients can complete rehab without receiving treatment for co-occurring disorders, many others struggle with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, schizophrenia, OCD, ADHD, and other conditions. These illnesses can make it difficult for individuals to cope with life outside of treatment.
Sober Life provides a wide range of mental health care and substance use disorder treatment options. Our team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, nurses, counselors, social workers, and case managers. We offer both group therapy and individual counseling sessions.
Our goal is to support each patient in achieving long-term sobriety and wellness in a holistic approach to addiction treatment and any co-occurring mental health issues. We believe that mental health treatment plays a major role in helping patients achieve lasting success.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment
The term “intensive outpatient treatment” is when patients receive several (3-5) weekly therapy sessions for a set amount of time. Patients are typically required to attend 9 to 15 hours of weekly group counseling and one hour of individual psychotherapy per week. They may also need to complete homework assignments. IOP and Sober Life in San Diego last anywhere from 2 to 3 months on average.
Intensive Outpatient Program with Sober Life San Diego Recovery Center
An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a type of behavioral health program offered as a service covered at least in part by insurance that is required by the Department of Healthcare Services. It is used to treat people who are struggling with less severe forms of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, substance abuse, or trauma. These programs are longer than traditional hospital stays because patients typically receive outpatient therapy five days per week without having to stay at the facility. The programs are only 3 hours a day. They include group counseling sessions led by trained professionals and individual psychotherapy. Patients are required to attend regularly scheduled appointments throughout their program.

Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program
Receive the care you need from the safety of your home. We can come to you virtually if you need care but cannot attend a physical location due to pandemic restrictions, distance from the center, work schedule, or other barriers. Our virtual intensive outpatient programs (VIOP) typically take place three-to-five days a week for three hours a day 5m-8pm. We work around your schedule. Learn more about our V IOP.

Intensive Outpatient for Dual Diagnosis
Dual-diagnosis patients are those who suffer from coexisting mental health disorders along with substance abuse problems. They often require specialized treatment programs that address both conditions simultaneously. At Sober Life, we offer outpatient dual-diagnosis treatment options that allow our patients to receive treatment while remaining in their home communities.

Partial Hospitalization Program
PHP Programs offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). The PHP schedule goes from Monday to Friday, 9am-3pm. This program provides intensive outpatient treatment and recovery support for individuals suffering from addiction to alcohol and/or drugs. Patients can complete their treatment while living at home with their families. PHP allows clients to receive the benefits of traditional hospital care without going through the rigmarole of being hospitalized.
We offer individualized treatment plans customized to meet each patient’s needs. This includes both medical detoxification and behavioral therapy. In addition, we utilize a holistic approach to help our clients build healthy relationships, manage their stress, and live productive, fulfilling lives.

Aftercare Program
The National Institute on Drug Abuse estimates that about 40 percent of people who receive drug treatment return to use within one year. Not great statistics.
Studies also show that patients who successfully complete treatment are less likely to relapse than those who do not. One reason is that many facilities offer an aftercare program, where clients continue to work toward recovery while living outside the facility. Aftercare is a crucial component of your recovery journey and we offer three successful aftercare programs to help you stay sober.
