A Path to Recovery with Outpatient Services (PHP-IOP)
In addition to offering substance abuse treatment, Sober Life provides mental health services in our primary mental health program HealthyU. Patients suffering from anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and ADHD are welcome. The majority of HealthyU clients DO NOT have co-occurring substance abuse issues but we do allow those clients into HealthyU if their mental health conditions are their primary issue. This allows them to offer specialized treatments that target each patient’s needs.
What sets us apart from other treatment centers in San Diego? We’re not just another rehab facility trying to provide mental health care to attract more clients. Our team is mostly made up of masters level Mental Health Clinicians. Furthermore, these therapists are highly trained and experienced in mental health psychotherapy. We have many Licensed Supervisors and a few associates. Our approach is highly effective in getting results, we do so by treating them holistically – both mentally and physically. We believe that everyone deserves an opportunity to get their emotional health on track and start a healthy life of recovery. Our goal is to provide the best possible care for each client, regardless of their situation.
Mental Health Challenges Are Common, So You Are Not Alone
While many people don’t talk about it publicly, there are effective treatments for those willing to seek mental health professionals. Nearly a quarter of adults suffer from depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, substance abuse, schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, personality disorders, borderline personality disorder, and/or psychotic disorders and other mental health-related illness. A mental health-related illness is often linked to some form of drug or alcohol addiction.
The unfortunate news is most people who experience mental illness never seek treatment likely due to not knowing their options. But what happens when they do? It could change their lives for the better.
Your Treatment Options With Sober Life San Diego
Levels of Care in our Treatment Approaches
Therapy takes many different forms. Find out What works best for you. We take into account what’s best for you and what you are available for.
Hybrid Intensive Outpatient Program
We do offer some groups virtually at night Monday-Thursday 5pm-8pm. You may experience less anxiety if you complete our online IOP, but you may wish to have some in-person assistance, which is understandable. In cases like this, you can participate in our in-person intensive outpatient services as often as you’d like.
You’ll meet with our counselors often, discuss your treatment plan, and adjust it when necessary. Our trained specialists and psychiatric team will also review your medications and closely monitor any issues or symptoms that arise.
If you live in or near San Diego and have family commitments, school, work, or other obligations, this may be the best plan of action for you to learn to live your life as you get healthier. Learn more about our mental health OP.
Intensive Outpatient Program
This program is designed for people who need more than individual therapy sessions and less than hospitalization or may need the flexibility due to family and work obligations.
This program typically lasts about two or three months and can be tailored to meet your individual needs. Learn more about our mental health IOP today.
Partial Hospitalization Program
This is the highest level of care we offer, and it is perfect for individuals who need more support than they would receive with our mental health IOP or OP options. If you have recently moved from inpatient care and want help making the transition while still enjoying time with your family, our mental health PHP might be ideal for you. Depending on your needs, this partial hospitalization program typically lasts from one to four weeks and includes group therapy, one-on-one counseling, psychiatric evaluations and medication management, and more. Learn more about our mental health PHP.
We take most forms of health insurance, and we can help you understand more clearly the actual cost of treatment, and if there are any additional costs, you need to expect. Call us anytime, day or night, to discuss contact us now.

What Our Clients Are Saying
“I am blessed to have had the good fortune of attending this program since October 2018. It was the first time I had tried anything like this, and I was quite nervous. I was treated with respect, dignity, and devotion. I felt at ease and actually looked forward to the sessions. The different therapists brought unique aspects of treatment, which helped to develop a multitude of tools that have helped change my perception, reaction to, and action plan to different life stressors. This program has worked for me, but only because I was willing and worked the program. I’m now on a journey to becoming the best version of myself.”
