If your goal is lifelong abstinence, we are going to treat you to help you reach that goal. However, if you have a minor slip up at the beginning of your treatment, we are going to help get you through it. We celebrate your successes, but also help you learn from your mistakes. If you have the sincere desire to stop using substances and to get help, Sober Life is here to help you achieve your recovery goals.
There Isn’t a “Wrong” Way to Do Recovery
You may be entering treatment and wondering what it’s going to be like. You may have a picture of what you think your treatment is going to look like. When you get to treatment, however, it might be completely different than what you were imagining. That’s okay! This is because everyone’s treatment looks different. The treatment programs we offer at Sober Life are completely individualized to fit your needs and goals. Thus, at Sober Life, there is no wrong way to do recovery. As long as you are working hard and committed to your recovery goals, we are here to help you reach those goals.
There Will Be Ups and Downs
Although there isn’t a right way to do recovery, there are some general things that are true for most people. One thing is that there will be ups and downs. The extent of these peaks and valleys depend on the individual person, but everyone encounters highs and lows when they are in recovery from substance use. One week, you may be soaring through programs and doing really well.
The next week, you may hit a plateau in your recovery. This is where things may begin to get difficult. You might begin to get frustrated and wonder why you aren’t succeeding at the rate you were last week. No one is immune, so it’s important to remember that you will experience ups and downs in your recovery.
You’ll Need to Find a Balance in Your “Normal”
There really isn’t a general norm. Everything in recovery differs from one person to the next. Instead of searching for the normal, we want to help you find your normal. This means finding a balance in your recovery. It means realizing that you cannot compare yourself to anyone else. Their balance looks very different from yours because they come from their own experiences, just like you come from your own experiences. Sober Life doesn’t try to fit anyone into a box.
We know that everyone is different, so that’s why we don’t try to force a square peg into a round hole. The same is true for recovery. That is why we offer many different treatment modalities and programs. We help treat many different addictions and mental illnesses, all while proving different types of care. For example, you may learn to thrive in our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP).
Your friend may not have gotten the same outcome with our PHP, but they did benefit greatly in our Sober Living program. This is why we offer compassionate and supportive care to fit your needs. The sooner you’re able to find your balance and find what works for you, the sooner you will begin to see that your normal is the path you should be on.
We Help You Find What Works For You
As we said, a PHP may not work for everyone. That is why we offer other programs, such as medication-assisted treatment (MAT), intensive outpatient program (IOP), outpatient, aftercare, sober living, and alumni services. Within these programs, we treat a plethora of diagnoses using many different treatment modalities, including:
- Activity Therapy
- Anger Management
- Art Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
