Recognizing Addiction

It can be challenging to determine whether you or a loved one is addicted to drugs or alcohol, but some signs can signal it is time for help. If you use drugs or alcohol and are unable to stop, you may need help.

Other signs include intense cravings and withdrawal symptoms when not using. If you are spending more time getting access to drugs and alcohol or continuing to choose drugs over relationships with your friends and family, consider giving us a call.

Finally, if you are using illegal drugs such as heroin or cocaine, please seek treatment immediately as these may be laced with even more dangerous substances such as fentanyl. However, if you are experience symptoms of an overdose, such as trouble breathing, irregular heartbeat, turning blue, or any other alarming symptoms, or you see a loved one is experiencing these symptoms, call 911 right away.

What Is Substance Abuse?

Substance abuse and addiction are often used interchangeably, but they are different. When a person is addicted to a substance, they have no control over their use. When they stop, they become very ill, and they may not be able to function. When a person is abusing substances, they may still have control over their lives. They may be able to still work and function as normal. Still, substance abuse can seriously impact your life and develop into an addiction. It is important to seek help, even if you feel you have control over substance abuse. You do not need to hit rock bottom before getting help.

What Our Clients Are Saying

“I just graduated today. I’ve been to 13 treatments, and this place isn’t like any of my previous ones. The amount of effort the staff put into the clients is astonishing. They didn’t teach me how to deal with the chaos of my addiction but rather how to live through it. They helped me identify the core of my addiction. I have the most amount of sober time I’ve ever had from age 17 to 24, and I couldn’t have done it without them. The staff has the experience, they care, they are honest, they are loving, and they push you to do your best. They also taught me how to learn from my mistakes and positively apply what I learned to my life. I would recommend Sober Life Recover Solutions to anyone who really wants to change their lives and not just go through “another treatment.” I am living a healthy, happy life, and this wouldn’t have been possible without them. I have my family back in my life, I have real friends, I am surrounded by a community of people who genuinely care for me and don’t just want me for what I have. Much love and to the future.”
